One brings decades of construction and leadership experience to the table, the other brings cultural experience and military discipline. David Barkley and Monty Brock have merged their past experiences to create the truly unique DMJ | Custom Build & Remodel. At DMJ we value integrity, honor, and people above all else. We know the construction experience can be dreaded, so we want to turn it into an experience that is enjoyable for our customers instead. We value customer service and communication, but more than that we value and desire great relationships. Our people are what make DMJ so unique — not just our team, but everyone we’re blessed to work with.

David has construction running through his blood. Both of his grandfathers were contractors, and he grew up relating their workshops to “little bits of heaven.” That influence started as early as the age of five and has continued to stick with him to this day. He inherited his passion for home construction from his grandfathers; integrity, leadership, honesty, and accountability from his father. In his work David highly values virtue, and seeing things through to completion, all things he has deeply rooted in DMJ.

Outside of his time at DMJ, David devotes his time and love to his wife, three kids, and their myriad of animals – from dogs to horses.

Monty served in the Air Force for twenty-five years, retiring as a Colonel, something that highly influenced his leadership and integrity. The Air Force’s three core values are “integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do,” things he constantly brings to the table at DMJ. He was a leader during both peacetime and in war, primarily flying the F-16 Viper. A decade working as a Director with a Fortune 100 defense contractor and an entrepreneurial mind, taught him the finer details of business. A military-bred leader with a passion for people, Monty brings both experience and a high caliber to DMJ. Monty spends his time outside of DMJ pouring his love into his wife, his three grown daughters, and his rescue dog Islay.

David and Monty are business partners and longtime friends. Their different skill sets and experiences compliment perfectly, creating a unique company that strives for both excellency and relatability.
